Original Release Date: 02/03/2019
Welcome Dom's seventh mod, Luxor Pharaoh's Revenge: Remastered! A mod designed in Luxor 2. This mod has been created for the simple fact that LPR was my first mod and was made way back in 2016 now, and it needed updating to 2018/2019 Dom standards. So, here we are, with a Luxor 2 mod remaster of my first mod.
Below is a developed list of what is included in the mod:
Remasters of all LPR levels.
Let's face it, the graphics of the original LPR suck and the map design is complete -meow-. And it wouldn't be a remaster if the levels weren't redesigned.
Since it is a remaster, the paths will stay mostly true to the original LPR paths. A few levels have extra tunnels, either to fit the design better or to make it more suitable for 9 colours. Back then I couldn't do TGA files and I could only use square tunnels, so now that I can, I'll be adding things here and there.
25 maps
There were 25 maps in LPR, and there are 25 maps in LPR: Remastered. Nuff Said. Although this does mean there will be no triple paths, or 7 or 800 path levels or whatever.
The level order will not be randomised; again this is a remaster, meaning it has to stick to the original concept. However, since this is Luxor 2, a CoH will be implemented into the game. hehe, I can see it now.
8 and 9 colour levels
It's a Luxor 2 Mod, expect 8 colours in normal and 9 colours in Expert.
Fancy Graphics
The Graphics will be updated into new shiny things. Some will be recycled from DRtPIaB and others will not. The mod will somewhat resemble DRtPIaB graphics-wise as that's my style.
Returning and new sound effects
Many of the sounds from LPR will return to LPR: Remastered. This includes the music. The new Luxor 2 sound effects and unedited ones from LPR will be changed to fit the other sounds. However, many of the already changed sounds from LPR will stay and come over to LPR: Remastered.
Z-axis, Warps, Animations, the Luxor 2 Stuff
All maps will be Luxor 2-ified, whether that be with a z-axis, animations or warps *cough* The Egyptian Curse *cough*, every map will have aspects of Luxor 2 fun in them that make them lively and not a solid picture background.
No Story
As said, this will be more relaxed, so I'm not going through the effort of making a story for a mod that didn't originally have a story.
Game Modes
I'm not going through the endless pain of testing Practice, Survival and Pharaoh's Challenge modes again. So if I do implement them, I'm not going to test them and you can hop into a possible death trap.
The development will be more open
I'm going to be more open with this mod; I won't hide as much as I have/did with DRtPIaB and will showcase a lot of the maps. Since it's a remaster, it's not like it's completely new and different, so it's fair to show people and get the hype up.
