Hello Sphere Matchers!
The forum might not as be as active today, but it still continues to be a repository of mods, a non-live chat for talk, an asset repository and much more. While the new forum is good enough, it isn't "polished" per se. With permission, I have tweaked and added some new things to improve the forum.
LABEL YOUR MODS!
When making a new thread (or editing your original post) in any Mods board, you can now add actual labels [instead of encasing things in square brackets]. While unfortunately, you cannot self-apply the SM Official Mod, adding labels in the parent board (if it has sub-boards) won't give it to their sub-boards, thus there are actually different "universal" labels: SM Official Mod, Work in Progress, Beta, Demo, and Discontinued. With that in mind, you can start labelling your mod threads by clicking on the gear drop-down, hovering on Labels and clicking on your desired label.
It also looks nicer when you think about it.
But what about if I use the plugin where I can stylize my thread button, especially giving it a banner and such?
It's going to look weird, especially if you add a description (more on that later).
MOD THREADS JUST GOT A LITTLE BIT TIDIER!
Mod threads AND Custom SM Game threads will now have their mini-profile hidden in their original post (the first post). This makes the mod page tidier and gives the modder another sense of freedom by having that extra space removed, allowing for more extraneous things such as a banner. The Quote, Signature and Edited By modules have been also disabled for these first posts to be extra tidy.
THREADS WITH EXTRA TEXT
Mod threads (and announcement threads) can now have short descriptions, perfect for your mod threads. Unfortunately, with the addition of labels and descriptions, you might want to sacrifice your fancy thread banner. Unless you don't really care.
LESS ANNOYING QUOTE EDITING
The forum theme used to have the quote border the same as their odd-number-post color, which makes it harder to distinguish while editing a post with a quote.
NOT REALLY GRAND ANYMORE
Another small change included is that I have removed the "GRAND OPENING" thingymabob in the homepage and replaced it with a horizontal bar (for now).
PROPER LOCKDOWN
No, not about COVID-19. I'm talking about threads for applications and ban appeals. Only the staff and Original Poster can now reply to their threads.
Thanks for reading through the end. Just taking steps to improve the new forum from the old!
