So, you've screwed up and got yourself banned on the SM Discord server. You rush to the forums in a froth and desperately try to convince the staff that you did nothing wrong, so you write an appeal, yet it gets rejected faster than you can say "UNBAN ME PLEASE". Why? Well, here's a few reasons why.
1. The way you post shows you learned nothing.
Unless you were genuinely banned because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, posting in a way that reads as if you're completely innocent and everyone else is wrong is a very good way to convince the staff that you don't hold any responsibility for your actions. (i.e. Why should you be unbanned? "I never stole any assets! It was other people who did it!")
2. Invalid/missing information.
If you're using the template, make sure that you fill each field in appropriately. This way, the staff would be able to verify the situation and process your appeal accordingly. Filling it with nonsense or omitting certain details can result it in being rejected. (i.e. "Ban reason: *a certain brand of earbuds by Apple*.")
3. It's unintelligible.
If your ban appeal looks like you put a bunch of words in a blender, it'd get rejected after the first sentence if a staff member looks over it. If you put at least some care into how it looks, you might be able to convince SOMEONE that your ban appeal is worth looking at. (i.e. "Reason for ban: ahahshfhdhfahgfvafhvvhvdvh")
4. It's specifically targeted at one staff member.
Have any issues with the staff member who banned you in question? At least try and DM them for why they decided to ban you. Writing your ban appeal with the bias against them in mind ties directly into No. 1. Most times, it's usually not who you think delivers the ban.
5. You decided to do something insanely dumb, like get yourself punished for Category 3 (multiple times) or Category 4 offenses.
So you posted an insanely gory video for everyone to see. I don't know why you did, but congratulations, you earned a permanent ban. Don't even think of writing an appeal for that, as you know exactly what you damn well did to deserve it. Most permanent bans of that nature can't be appealed and would result in your account being reported as well.
